I was fortunate enough to attend the Southern Oregon Wedding show this past weekend in Medford,OR. It was a BLAST! I met a ton of brides and their friends and family. There were so many people excited about planning a wedding and incorporating handmade jewelry. I do custom designs, which is the perfect gift for bridesmaids as well as the perfect design element for brides. They can have the exact look they want, and be apart of creating it. How fun!
The wedding show was a whole new world for me, but PurdeyDesigns fit right in. My jewelry was a hit! I am so thankful for all of the opportunities I have been given. I pray I will continue to grow as a designer and business owner and branch out to other areas of the industry. I have a few new designs posted to me Etsy shop, so check them out :)
Thanks!
xoxo

New and improved
Hello to anyone that wants to read :)
I have began a new journey in my life. I started a new job in january as a marketing associate in the marketing analytics department at FMG. I love it so much and it has challenged me. I have been married for 2 1/2 years, and have two dogs. My husband and I bought our first home in 2010 and have had an exciting time making it our own.
I recently started thinking about some really serious things. What do I want to do when i grow up? I have the best job i could ask for and am going to school to continue my path in this career...but that does not define who I am.
I want to LIVE, taste decadent foods, explore towns, oceans and antique shops. I want to dance, make tye dye shirts (like in highschool for dance team) and learn to make pottery. I want to read books while sipping iced tea and sitting on my front porch while the sun goes down.
There are many, many more things added to this list of to-do's. My husband and I do not have children yet, though most of our friends do. We want to continue planning ahead and make sure our list is completed before starting a whole new one with little ones to share the world with.
I was driving in my 2005 white toyota camry, top down (or sun roof opened) and listening to a graceful song. I thought to myslef, why stress over the little things, heck! why stress over the big things? life is wonderful if you change your perception of the world.
Jesus has turned my world upside down time and time again... Except this time, I am going to remain faithful and spread the love and joy he has shown me. I am going to LIVE and helps others to do the same. This life is too short to do anything else.
Luckily, I am only 21 years old (soon to be 22) and I am figuring this out now. I thank god for blessing me with amazing friends, (who go wine tasting and still get tipsy) FYI I guess you are suppose to swirl and spit... not drink every wine they place in front of you. I didn't know this until after I could barley walk. What fun experiences!
I am looking forward to the journey ahead, with my family, friends, career and time experienceing life, the way it should be experienced :)

Poker Night-
After a week of work we are ready to have some fun!! Our friends are coming over and we are busting out the poker chips :) We are making brownies, and madori sour is the drink of the night.
Madori sour: madori liquor, sweet and sour mix, lemon juice and a cherry to top it off
Brownies: they come in a box!
We will also be playing dance on the wii, oh so fun with a group of us crazy girls. A night with our friends hanging out and having a good time. Just the fix we need for a friday night. Have a great evening everyone!

Kidzone
An evening of running around in plastic tubes, jumping into ball pits and slipping down slides. I went to the kidzone with my best friend and her 1 1/2 year old son. We do this every wednesday, and it is so much fun! Sometimes I wonder if we do it for Tristan, or for ourselves ;)
It is a great workout as well...
Tonight? Dyeing my hair! I will post pics :)

The new kid on the block
I opened up a bottle of wine, and as I was about the throw away the cork. I thought to myself, there must be some way I can recycle this cork! I decided to try my hand at making it into some form of jewelry. I put an eyepin through the cork and looped the other end of the eyepin. I added a few random beads and attached it to chain. It is now a 'charm' necklace and so unique!! I love this piece and have another one in my shop with rose quartz attached. It is a small piece of jewelry that uses upcycled product. A glass of wine is a relaxing and sensual experience. This necklace brings that feeling with you all day(: Or atleast has that memory and a story to share.

Valentine's day
My husband and I celebrated early by going to the coast for the weekend. We had a nice cozy cabin by the beach with a private hot tub. We went to the casino and won some moo-la and spent time down memory lane. Needless to say it was a perfect getaway.
Today we ate pizza, watched our favorite show, and had DQ dessert!
We just recently started going to a new bible study with some friends we met a couple weeks ago. They moved here from San Diego, to take a job as a youth pastor and coordinator. We have been so blessed with the friends we have and the new ones we have met.
My husband and I don't have kids, yet, and it is nice to share time with other couples that are at similar stages in their lives. My best friend has a beautiful baby boy, now turning 2 and he is delightful. I visit the kidzone (a room full of tubes and slides) and it is a blast!! But sometimes, it is nice to have a couple that will go out on a whim and have common challenges in their life.
Recently, there has been some changes in our life and it is all for the better. I continue to pray god will help us grow and become the people he wants us to be. I am in aw of my life and the things and people god has given to me and my husband. Every prayer has been answered, whether it be the answer I wanted or not, it ALWAYS works out :)
Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my rant of a story. I am going to try to get on here more and share a little about me, my family and my business that will begin to blossom! The more time I get, the more my shop will grow and have more going on, such as giveaways! I hope to have one soon! xoxoxo

The desire lives on
I am back to write a few words on what is going on in the mind of a 20 year old designer and small business owner. I am going to be 21 in a couple of months and am SO excited. Another mile stone to meet. FINALLY! I am a wife, a home owner and most recently a small home-based business owner. I do not have kids, that is the one thing I am going to make sure is done absolutely right (: I can't wait to share that experience with my husband, but I do want to make sure that my children will have the best parents possibe, so we have some work to do before that time comes.
I am trying to keep up with working full time, going to college to get that degree I need to make some good money in this fabulous world, my wonderful husband and my black lab kyrie. There is alot of work that comes with all of this craziness.
I love designing, and making pieces of artwork through jewelry. That is what it is ALL about for me. But in order to make mony off this, I also need to make simple, day -to- day jewelry that everyone can enjoy. I will be committing more of my time to PurdeyDesigns as time allows, and in the future I hope to either have my own boutique, or have so many venues for my jewelry that it will be enough to equaly support having a full time jo. We shall see. Lets document this and see where I am, as well as where PurdeyDesigns is in 5 years. Thanks Dolls! Have a great day (:

Newest item in my shop!! This necklace is made with Patina Drops in earth tones. These have been stamped and sealed. The stamp pad designs are romantic writing of a love letter and romace patterns. This creates a dramatic look that is fun and flirty.

It's the little things that count
I have been adding things to my list of 'what to include in a package'. I started out simply sending my jewelry to a customer in a nicely gifted box. I expanded to adding hemp cord in multiple colors to add bows, personality and personal touch. I then included the receipt upon purchase and sign the bottom with a Thank You. I realized that the little extra things make a difference.
I already offer things that no one else can. I make jewelry that has my design and creativity in it. There is not single person out there that thinks just like me. BUT, there are MANY people out there that are very creative in their own way. It's time I depend on the little things to make a difference. I have received an item from two different people, and I must say one was coldly sent, while the other was sent with care. A nice little note simply saying enjoy and thank you made my day. The other, was in the envelope all on its own. And this was the second time I bought from this business/handmade seller.
It was truly dissappointing to not be remembered. I try to connect with my customers, and make them feel comfortable through the whole purchasing process. I want them to not only LOVE my designs, I want them to really enjoy doing business with me. Food for thought~ I am sure I am not the only one :)PurdeyDesigns.etsy.com

My First Blog
Hello to all you bloggers out there!
I am finally creating a blog for PurdeyDesigns. This may seem like a small step to most of you, but for me it is a big step. I am excited to finally release my designs, and my business to the world. This has been a working progress for over 2 years now. I love to create beautiful, unique jewelry and accessories and I love even more to share them with other people. God has blessed me in so many ways and I am so lucky to have all the support that I do. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and to stop by my Blog.
